it's raining it's pouring

and i am
wild about
jumping...
in muddy
puddles, i.e.
just like
peppa pig!

bad hair days are here to stay

dada gave
me yet another
hair cut
the other day...
mummy thinks
it's starting
to turn
into some
sort of
mushroom
bowl head...
and yet
she would
not consider
taking me
to a hairdresser...

from my
vehicles
drawing
stint
with

this is my version of a bus (the one on the left)

rainbow cars

a
racing
car

and
of course
we end
with
my
signature
'the face'

practice runs (no pun intended)

one fine morning
after breakfast
papa put me
on my special seat
and got me to make
funny urgh urgh
grunty sounds
in the vain hope
of preventing
another soiled nappy
i think they have
quite a wait ahead
as i haven't seemed

to want to try out
this new skill so far
and yes
mama is
sometimes
more concerned
with cost than
gender
appropriateness
of my pjs!

all aboard

mama and papa
took me to
whiteman park
on the weekend
and braved a
massive traffic jam
due to roadworks
but i was glad we
didn't turn back
because i got to
ride on one of the
original wooden
electric trams
for the
very first time

now that i am
getting easier
to cart around
we can all look forward
to another trip here
to ride the train too!
and you didn' think
there would be
a photo opp
without 'the face'
now did you?

let them eat bread

we went to
jackadder lake
on the glorious
weekend to feed the
ducks and swans
well to be honest
it was more like
me haphazardly flinging
bits of stale bread
which papa broke up
for me and then
alternating between
wild hysterical
laughter and fear...
(and these weren't
even proper ducks...)

working man

for some
strange reason
i think it's
pretty cool
dressing up
in dada's tie
carrying a bag
(ok it's my nappy bag
but little do i know...)
and pretending
i am
going to work!

but of course
when the
time actually comes
for me
to do this
day in
day out
i will so regret
liking this
and hence
i will
do 'the face'
to my boss then...

twinkle toes

i discovered this music video from the madagascar dvd
mummy borrowed from the local library for me
i can't be bothered watching the movie but i love the music video

and replay it umpteen times over and over and over again
much to her dismay
i insist on everyone doing the moves with me
and it just cracks them up
dada is a great sport because he is wearing his work pedometer at the moment
mummy will start hers next week so she can join in then
in the meantime she loves these videos which will surely
be brought out when i turn 18...

(spot the flashdance, bum-wiggling, moooove-it and strange swaying moments)
twinkle toes 1
(and all clothes are off... )
twinkle toes 2

more of the face

one fine day
mummy* is
going to
compile all
the pictures
of me doing
'the face'
into one book
for posterity
(* of late i have
switched from
addressing her
as mama and
now prefer
hollering
marmeeeeeee!!!!!
instead...)

happy mothers' day

mama has been savouring this book of late
finding your inner mama which is

a collection of essays by women
reflecting on the challenges and rewards of
motherhood
here she shares part of the introduction
penned by the editor, Eden Steinberg
which resonates deeply with her

"... if I was going to survive...
i was going to have to grow and change...
I was going to have to let go of a lot of things I felt entitled to:
uninterrupted sleep;
things going as planned;
a feeling of being in command,
the master of my circumstances.
I also saw that I was ultimately going to have
to let go of my very self-concept,
my idea of motherhood,
and my expectations of my child.
All of it had to go.
The idea of shedding...
my whole concept of motherhood...
I thought that as a mother
I would carefully mould and shape my children.
If I did my job right, my children would turn out to be
well-adjusted, loving, thoughtful, and interesting people.
As it turns out, motherhood is moulding and shaping me.
At the end of all this, I am the one who could end up
well-adjusted, loving, thoughtful, and interesting.
In different ways... our experiences as mothers
can lead us to valuable insight and transformation.
So... I respectfully suggest to all of you that,
from a certain persepctive,
your children will raise you.
That's good news, isn't it?"

Wishing you a lovely Mothers' Day!

i can draw cars

mama was pleasantly surprised by my drawing skills
it just goes to show that all those early-morning-half-asleep-drawing-in-bed sessions of hers
are not so futile after all
here is my attempt at drawing a convertible...

and this is the finished result (the orange convertible) - not bad, hey?!

merci beacoup stephanie et luke

dear aunty steph and lukie
can you believe mama finally let me have the peppa pig car on saturday?
dada couldn't believe she managed to keep it from me for that long...
well thank you very much for thinking of me and knowing how much i like peppa pig
i keep asking them to press mama pig so that the music comes on
but i do not really like it when they push papa pig down so the car moves
i guess i like to be the one in the driver's seat!

here i am once more doing 'the face'
