meet my special friend

this is piggy
who is my special lovey soft-toy
(actually it used to be mama's
but i've sort of hijacked it for myself)
i love piggy very much
and i show it by
cooing, cuddling and kissing it
- i am a pretty affectionate toddler!

drowning my sorrow

because parting
is such sweet sorrow
and since i already
miss kong kong and poh poh
so much
i have resorted
to drowning my sadness
in chocolate
yes - good old tim tams
will just about
mend my heartache
for now

i am very sad

my new best friends
kong kong and poh poh
are going home tomorrow...
i will be a total wreck
and so will mama, i am sure
it has been lovely
having their love and care
these past five weeks
i will miss our
reading, feeding
playing, talking and laughing
with each other

the time with us
we love you and will miss you
so much
one of the things
i loved doing each day
was sitting next to kong kong
on the bench
at the end of the garden
chatting, watching
observing and listening
to the world at large
- simply being together
my time with you
has been so special
and much appreciated

not only was today
ANZAC Day
- a day of remembrance
of all our servicemen
who served and
are serving the country
in times of war and unrest
so we can live
in peace and safety -
to all those
who have laid down
their lives for us
lest we forget...

today was also papa's birthday
and i helped him
blow out his candles
we had a lovely al fresco lunch
together with kong kong,
gerry, gay and megan

on another note
we have been having the flu lately -
poh poh, mama and i
that's why i have been
a little silent for a while
let's hope we all get better shortly...

eamon's visit

today i had a lovely visit from
eamon, lauren, vivienne and aunty mel
and we had lots of chatter, laughter
and giggles clambering on the new slide
mama got from the toy library today
together we are the bald and the bountiful..

ooo... my new trick these days
is sitting down
yup, crawling onto my sofa
and sitting on it all by my little self

whilst watching some telly
with such an i'm-so-absorbed-please-don't-disturb-me expression
or taking a breather from all that energetic running around

mama is getting lazy

she just keeps posting videos now
this is when i learned my
put-the-phone-back-in-cradle trick

and this is when i was trying very very hard...
(note how i get distressed when
things don't seem to go my way???!)

happy easter everyone

i like to dance!
yep, i can groove and 'gelek' to any sort of music
but i especially like the beat on 'millionaire'
to the surprise and amusement of my parents
everytime i hear the beat of that song
my little legs get a life of their own
and i go off wobblying my legs and bottom
(papa thank you for your disco lights)
well do you think i have a future as a dancer???

today i managed to put the telephone handset
back into it's cradle
all. by. my. little. self.
no mean feat considering my burgeoning development of
dexterity and hand-eye coordination
so i was rightly and utterly proud and pleased with myself
when i did the deed
oh the sheer delight and joy evoked
by one's own accomplishments!

over the weekend
mama baked these girly looking

ice cream cupcakes
for dinner at godpa and godma's
whilst she was in this feminine-state-of-mind
and it being the first of the month
she decided to do this to my hair...
