oingo boingo

this is my favourite pastime - oingo-boingo-ing
as mama calls it
and i am so privileged that she lets me do it
on her bed
perhaps we live in hope that one day all my incessant jumping
will lead to a new bed and a trampoline?
as i said, we live in hope...

i am the bin enforcer

these days
taking a walk
with me anywhere
means certain
rubbish issues
meaning
i have this strange fetish
of putting things into the bin
so every time i encounter
any rubbish lying about
the side of the road
i tend to pick it up
and shout bin! bin! bin!
at the top of my lungs
(isn't civic-mindedness
a good trait?)

at home too, much to mama and papa's consternation
no scrap of paper - bills, receipts, mail, winning lottery tickets, you name it -
anything i come across l
ying on the floor
i pick up and fling into the bin!

nothing is safe from my strict bin-enforcement...
pity this doesn't seem to apply to my toys...

rambling about in the bush

mama took this clip of us bushwalking
down in nannup during our last trip
check out my speediness...

jamie eat your heart out

yes mr oliver i suspect your days are now numbered
as evidenced by this jamie's culinary skills
mama got this preloved kitchen unit at a garage sale down the road
and although she had been harbouring secret hopes
of getting a solid wooden version for me
papa figured this cheapo version would do fine
all i need now are my chef's hat and apron!
warning... due to mama's laziness at editing, video lasts almost 6 minutes!

so what do you think of my sound effects?
(mama also seems to think i must have learnt these skills from her...
well ok - bottle-reheating and dish-washing due to her
whilst steak-cooking and tea-making due to papa!)

bag baby

mama has been rather lazy of late
not posting new stories on my blog
and since she is still in this lazy daze
she's decided to post a moving picture instead
this was filmed during dinner out at nannup
how attention-seeking am i and does tinky-winky need to watch out or what?!

638.75 days of my life

i turned 21 months old today
and so far i am becoming
quite the chatty
if not cheeky child
the usual my-way
or the highway
issues abound

as well, my obsession
with all things vehicular
continues
as evidenced by
my penchant for the following programs
little red tractor
and
top gear

as for hobbies
i have recently discovered the zen of digging
- sand at the beach and playgrounds is perfect -

and so have begun my expedition route to china
further physical development
has taken the form of
almighty and unceasing jumping up and down
-
on the floor, off the kerb, off retaining walls, on the bed or sofa, you name it...
i guess i am just trying to show the folks that i:
a. have the beginnings of a trampoliner, and
b. would make a pretty respectable kangaroo
which is all good in the end
because it helps burn off
my vast amounts of energy and enthusiasm...

more hairdo disasters

mama
really
has
a lot
to
answer
for -
putting
my
hair
into
pigtails
and
what not...

milestone alert

today i made mama and papa
cry tears of joy and sadness...
mama received in the post
the that baby dvd

and so as a family
we watched it
together
this evening
amongst the music clips
there are two graphic clips
where the alphabet
and numbers 1-10

calmy and clearly appear
across the screen

while someone
enunciates them

well much to their amazement
i managed to recite each letter and number

neither prompted nor coached !
they reckon for a first-timer
i did the job
amazingly well...
their joy and pride is evident in their wet eyes
and hanging-to-the-ground jaws

and their sadness is because
i am certainly growing into a little boy now...

the extended family

my godparents gay and gerry met up with us down in nannup last weekend
and brought along their niece laura who is visiting from ireland
of course i took every opportunity to flirt with laura
and so now every chance i get i want to go to their place
so i can be lavished with all the attention a little boy could wish for...

getting so much bigger all the time

mama took this picture of me a few days ago
and was very surprised at how un-babylike i look
(i am sitting at her laptop watching the singing hippopotamus)
she has been bemoaning this for the past week actually -
"where's my baby james gone???!"

Tuesday 6 November 2007

keep calm and carry on

yesterday whilst we were
collecting the laundry
and playing with pegs
mama had the most
incredible conniption going on
when she spotted
this
giant wood moth
hanging onto my grobag
basically after her doubletake
and massive freak-out
she let it be known
in no uncertain terms that
if i wanted to just stand there
and gape in awe at the
(hungry? nesting?
egg-laying?)
flappable mammoth
and it decided to take a peek inside my mouth
she would most certainly not
be kindly extracting it
with her hand from the back of my throat
no-(*insert your choice of adjective here*)-way
not even if my life depended on it...
so yes as would have gathered by now
it was a rather unpleasant experience for her
