retrospective: car series II

singapore is
car-ride
heaven for
'autophiles'
like moi
unfortunately
my folks
are very
tight on the
pocket
when it
comes to
making them
actually
work!

hot and bothered tonight

it's late in the evening
we're wondering how to bath him
we blow up the little pool
and fill it with water
and then we ask him
do you want to play
and he thinks yes
i feel hot and bothered tonight...

we feel wonderful
because it's a sneaky way to bath you
and the wonder of it all
is that you just don't realise
how much we've tricked you
(with apologies to mr clapton)

seeing as mama is
finally finding
the time to
actually look
at the pictures
taken during
our singapore trip
she's now making
an effort to post them
(albeit retrospectively)
what's amusing
is the number
of car pictures
that keep cropping up
- see for yourself
in the days to come...

actually mama is
pretty relieved
that i am
beginning
to show
an interest in
my duplo blocks
because
for the longest
time i just
couldn't care less
about them
but today
i feel ready to
build/tear down
skyscrapers
in one fell swoop

party season

approaches
the season
for no 2
birthday
parties
and
yesterday
we had
our first
afternoon
tea party
where i
was finally
allowed some ice cream cake
for the very first time...

of course i could not
let the cone leave my hands at all
much to everyone's amusement
witness my multi-tasking at the
water table

what with the blatant contravening of all occupational health and safety rules
- no safety-capped boots, no ear muffs, haphazard mowing
who'd even consider hiring this guy
jim's mowing - coming to a solvency near you???!

when she

today

i suppose our daily morning doodle sessions whilst she lies in bed dreaming of an extra 10 minutes and trying to coax her body into get-out-of-bed-mode are indeed starting to bear fruition... after all i am not a bad copycat hey?!

23 months = 1.917 years

mama is grieving
because time and tide
waits for no
man/woman/child
and in the next month
i will hit the two's -
a time which she
hopes and prays
that that
commonplace
adjective
(which henceforth
will remain
unwritten
and unspoken)
will not apply -

she would rather aspire it to be a time of
tremendous, tantalising and terrific two's
so here's to enjoying and savouring
my remaining one-and-a-bit year's worth of adventures
and gamely heading forth towards the uncharted waters of two-dom

sleep loud sweet snorer...

mama worries a little too much
that a little toddler like me is able to
emit this amount of 'snorey' sounds
it just doesn't seem right to her
well you be the judge...

but better late
than never
so here's wishing
all of you
a great start
to 2008
i've made it
a good beginning
by keeping my
hat and sunnies
on since we
came home
will wonders never cease?

flying high

well we finally
made it
home in
one piece
with
no frazzles
on our
return flight
from the
lion city
(cue joyous
giddy rejoicing
and
grateful prayers
of relief)

i fell asleep about 2 minutes from take off
stayed in dreamland for a record 4 whole hours
and only awoke with an hour to go
which i tarried away watching curious george
i also gave mama and papa
a taste of hip displaysia
by splaying across all three seats during my siesta...
but then again would you care to disturb a sleeping baby?!!
