we are grateful

it's dada's birthday today
so happy happy birthday my beloved dada
we are so blessed to have you as a father and husband
you are the world to me and mama
your constancy and love is our bedrock
and i will always treasure
our nights together
as you put me to bed
and wait for me
to fall asleep
before tiptoeing out
although some nights
you don't manage
to brush your teeth...
for this i love you!

and on another note
we spare
a moment in time
to remember
and be grateful for
the brave ANZAC soldiers
who gave of themselves
on the shores of gallipoli
lest we forget
