dashing through the rain

i don't know about you
but all this rainy weather lately
has been driving me insane
keeping me cooped up indoors
so it was with great relish
that mama took a chance
in between showery periods
and brought me
for a nice long walk
along the coast yesterday
she also let me run amuck
on the deserted playground
of course it was wet
of course i got sodden
of course i fell down

sure i got caked with sand
but i had it all to myself
and nothing, nothing
beats the freedom of
madly dashing about
tearing up and down
the slopes and slides
with the wind in one's hair
woo hoo!
